LK – Boilers, Turbines, Heating and Dust Cleaning Equipment and Dust-Gas Emissions Research Laboratory

The Boilers, Turbines, Heating and Dust Cleaning Equipment and Dust-Gas Emissions Research Laboratory (LK) carries out:

• tests and measurements blocks, power boilers and turbines and auxiliary equipment especially rotary air heaters, coal mill systems, dust extraction equipment, heating exchangers and special heating equipment;

• measurements of gas and particulate emission and also parallel measurements (QAL2 and AST) of emission monitoring systems and testing the efficiency of dust collection equipment ;

• investigation of temperature profile inside the equipment and indoors;

• mass flow measurements of heating factors and thermo-balance of power equipmen;t

• final tests of biomass transport and unloading;

• documentation and expert opinions in the field of "red and green certificates";

• modernization projects for power plants to achieve high efficiency cogeneration ;

• projects of measurements systems;

• technological and energy audits;

• expertise in gas and particulate emission systems.

The Laboratory has the accreditation of Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) No. AB 048 in the field of research on thermo-emission of boilers up to 500 kW and other low power heating devices to test the conformity with European standards.
