Description

The goal of the project is to conduct R&D work aimed at the development of an improved 5 kW solid oxide electrolyzer, manufactured using cost-effective methods. This project will deliver novelties related to production of the key components of SOE, including application of high pressure injection molding (HPIM) and fabrication of sealings using additive manufacturing - 3D printing. In terms of the construction of SOE stacks, composite air electrodes will be developed and applied. The ultimate goal of the project can be defined as the development, design, construction and long-term operation of prototype scalable solid oxide electrolyzer stack based on several novelties in the field of fabrication and materials' design. This electrolyzer will achieve energy consumption equal or below 42 kWh/kg H2 and will be ready for mass-scale production. Results of the project bring the answer to current challanges in Energy and other industrial sectors, while companies such as gas, oil and energy utilities are the target group of the project. The development and commercialization of highly efficient solid oxide electrolyzers are among the targets of the Polish Hydrogen Strategy. T strategy defined in he document expects 2 GW in electrolysis installed in Poland by 2030
