On Wednesday, December 7, the Conference of the Parties to the Sectoral Agreement for the Development of the Hydrogen Economy took place in Warsaw. The event was a summary of a year of work within seven groups that coordinated the work of several hundred representatives of over 230 entities, signatories of the Agreement:

The event was a summary of a year of work within seven groups that coordinated the work of several hundred representatives of over 230 entities, signatories of the Agreement:

  1. Working Group 1: Hydrogen Generation. Coordinator: prof. Jakub Kupecki, DSc, PhD, Institute of Power Engineering
  2. Working Group 2: Transmission, distribution and storage of hydrogen. Coordinator: Marek Elert, GAZ-SYSTEM
  3. Working Group 3: Use of hydrogen. Coordinator: Andrzej Szałek, DSc, PhD, Toyota Central Europe
  4. Working Group 4: A stable regulatory environment. Coordinator: Piotr Mikusek, Grupa Azoty
  5. Working Group 5: Systems of financial support for hydrogen projects. Coordinator: Tomasz Gackowski, DSc, PhD, prof. University of Warsaw, Industrial Development Agency
  6. Working group 6: Human resources development for the hydrogen economy and social education. Coordinator: Anna Szóstakiewicz, KEZO Foundation
  7. Working Group 7: Development of hydrogen valleys and stakeholder cooperation. Coordinator: Szymon Płoński, Industrial Development Agency.

The event was attended by representatives of the Institute of Energy: Prof. Jakub Kupecki, DSc, PhD, Director of the Institute of Power Engineering, Grzegorz Tchorek, DSc, PhD, Deputy Director for Economy, Jarosław Hercog, PhD, Deputy Director for Cooperation and Development, Prof. Tomasz Gałka, DSc, PhD, Tomasz Golec, PhD, Bartosz Świątkowski, PhD, Marcin Błesznowski, PhD, and Paweł Bocian, PhD.

During the event, the Secretary of State, Deputy Minister Ireneusz Zyska, Government Plenipotentiary for RES, awarded the coordinators and people particularly involved in the work for the Agreement. From among the staff of the Institute of Power Engineering, congratulatory letters were received by director Jakub Kupecki and leaders of subgroups G1.8 Decarbonisation of metallurgy and cement industry - director Jarosław Hercog and G3.2 Energy and heating - Marcin Błesznowski, PhD.

The Institute of Power Engineering is involved in initiatives related to the Polish Hydrogen Strategy and the Sectoral Agreement on many levels. The staff of the Institute participates in the work of working teams and the Coordinating Council for the Hydrogen Economy at the Ministry of Climate and Environment, and sits on the boards and councils of hydrogen valleys.
