30 września 2021 roku odbyło sie spotkanie kick-off, rozpoczynające nowy projekt VETNI z udziałem Instytutu Enrgetyki. Grupa LOTOS, w konsorcjum z Instytutem Energetyki oraz Akademią Górniczo-Hutniczą im. Stanisława Staszica w Krakowie, uruchomiła nowy projekt wodorowy o wartości blisko 10 mln zł. Jego celem jest skonstruowanie pilotażowej instalacji w oparciu o elektrolizery stałotlenkowe (SOE). W spotkaniu udział wzięła Dyrekcja Instytutu Enrgetyki oraz pracownicy realizujący projekt z Zakładu Wysokotemperaturowych Procesów Elektrochemicznych (CPE).
VETNI (which stands for hydrogen in Icelandic) project has officially started with the kick-off meeting organised in Jaslo on the 30th of September 2021. The Institute of Power Engineering will partner with LOTOS group and AGH - University of Science and Technology to design, built and operate highly efficient system for production of high purity (5.0) hydrogen for the mobility sector. IEn's Directors and researchers from the Department of High Temperature Electrochemical Processes took part in this important meeting.
The system, including the 30 kW-class electrolyzer will be supplied by IEn. The team of AGH from Cracow will focus on novel electrodes with reduced content of cobalt. VETNI received co-financing from the Centre for Research and Development.
