On Friday 6 September, the official celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the independent national electricity system operator Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A. were held at the headquarters of Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne.
The event was attended by the Director of the Institute of Power Engineering - National Research Institute Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jakub Kupecki, Prof. Jacek Wańkowicz (Director of the Institute of Power Engineering - National Research Institute from 1997 to 2016, advisor to the Director of the Institute of Power Engineering - National Research Institute Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jakub Kupecki) and Dr.-Ing. Krzysztof Madajewski (Director of the Gdańsk Branch from 1990 to 2020, advisor to the OG Director Dr.-Ing. Michał Izdebski).
The Jubilee was attended by the Minister of Climate and Environment, Ms Paulina Henning - Kloska, Minister of Industry, Ms Marzena Czarnecka, Minister of Finance, Mr Andrzej Domański, Deputy Minister Konrad Wojnarowski, Minister Maciej Bando - Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure, and Advisor to the President of the Republic of Poland, as well as representatives of government agencies, energy companies, research and academic circles. During the event, selected employees of PSE were awarded Knight's Crosses of the Order of Rebirth of Poland and departmental badges of Merit for the Energy Sector. In addition, awards of merit for the National Power System, established on the occasion of the 20th anniversary, were presented, which will be awarded to persons of outstanding merit for the NPS every five years. One of the awards was presented to Professor Krzysztof Madajewski, for his many years of support for the work of the PSE for the NPS at the Gdansk Branch of the IPE-NRI, which he heads.
