As of January 13, 2025, Prof. Jakub Kupecki has completed his tenure as Director of the Institute of Power Engineering – National Research Institute (IPE-NRI). From this date, Professor Kupecki returns to his role as Head of the Department of High-Temperature Electrochemical Processes (CPE), where he will focus on developing energy technologies, securing R&D projects, and engaging in scientific activities.
The decision regarding this change was made in consultation with Minister Krzysztof Bolesta, who recognized Prof. Kupecki's contributions and commitment to the transformation of the Institute. Together, they agreed that the most suitable solution for the Institute's further development is to announce a competition for a new Director. Until the selection process is completed, the duties of Director have been entrusted to Dr. Jarosław Hercog, Deputy Director for Cooperation and Development, recommended by Prof. Kupecki, to ensure operational continuity and stability at the Institute.

The Future of the Institute
Prof. Kupecki will focus his activities on the development and implementation of energy technologies, acquiring commercial contracts, securing research and development projects, and continuing his scientific endeavors, in which he has achieved remarkable success. The outgoing Director has been associated with the Institute for nearly 14 years, during which time he has held various positions. Over this period, he earned the titles of Doctor, Habilitated Doctor, and Full Professor, the latter conferred by the President of Poland at the age of 38, making him one of the youngest full professors in the country.
We wish Prof. Jakub Kupecki all the best in his ongoing scientific work and success in his new endeavors. His achievements will benefit not only the present but also future generations of researchers.
