EERA (European Energy Research Alliance) Summer Strategy Meeting was held on 30-31 May 2017 at the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Vienna (Austria). The meeting was attended by members of EERA Executive Committee, personal representatives to the Executive Committee, co-ordinators of EERA Joint Research Programs and representatives of the European Commission. On behalf of the Institute of Power Engineering, the meeting was attended by prof. Tomasz Gałka, director of IEn, member of the EERA Executive Committee and Andrzej Sławiński (PhD), representative of the director of international cooperation, personal representative.

During the meeting, strategic issues of relevance to the association's activities were discussed, including the impact of EERA's activities on the implementation of the SET-Plan in Europe, the relationship between programs and activities of the European Commission, Member States and EERA in the field of energy technology, the impact of EERA on the development of the highest quality energy research and interactions with the industrial sector. EERA's internal problems have also been discussed, such as the vision for the development of EERA Joint Research Programs, tasks for EERA Secretariat, and other EERA management issues.
