On July 2-6, 2023, Lyon hosted the international conference XVIII Conference [&] Exhibition of the European Ceramic Society. The guests were experts related to ceramics - scientists, engineers, technology suppliers. It was also a meeting place between science and industry and a space for young scientists. During the conference 13 Scientific Symposia were held as well as the Career Fair and the ECerS Society School dedicated to young scientists who presented the results of their research and achievements in the field of ceramics.

One of the symposia was devoted to the technology of energy conversion and storage, including technologies in the field of electrochemistry. The event was actively attended by representatives of the Center for Hydrogen Technologies - CTH2 - PhD students of the Institute of Power Engineering: Monika Łazor and Leszek Ajdys. At “Symposium 9 – Ceramics for Energy Conversion and Storage, Chemistry and Environment” they gave presentations:
Leszek Ajdys et al., Spinel CuMn1.9Fe0.1O4 as promising material for protective layers for SOC stack components
Monika Łazor et al., Study of the influence of steel pre-oxidation on protective layers used in SOC technology
