Research themes performed in the Institute embrace a wide scope of issues connected with the efficient generation, distribution and use of energy, energy infrastructure development, implementation of renewable energy sources, clean conversion of fossil fuels, as well as the creation of analysis and energy strategies. The research carried out by the Institute is a part of strategic objectives of the Polish energy policy and long-term plans for the development of the energy sector in Europe. IEn’s numerous research topics are built up upon the expectations of energy industry and result from the research collaboration with Polish and European partners in a number of research and implementation projects.

The Certification and Inspection Team has been operating in the Polish energy market since 1969, providing certification services in the field of conformity assessment with normative documents for electrical power products, within the structure of the Certification Unit.
