Certification services

The Certification and Inspection Department has been operating on the Polish energy market since 1969, providing certification services in the area of assessment of conformity with normative documents of electrical power products, within the structure of a Certification Body, accredited by the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) - No. AC 117.

As a Certification and Inspection Department, we offer certification of products conducted in accordance with the requirements of standards contained in the scope of accreditation No. AC 117.

The body acts as a third party, is impartial and independent of the parties involved. Conformity assessment is offered in the field of products for use in electrical power engineering, which includes products such as:

• transformers,
• electric power cables and wires,
• insulators,
• electrical accessories (including: fuses and fuse links),
• low-voltage and high-voltage switchgear and controlgear,
• transformers and reactors,
• equipment for electrical power transmission and distribution networks (including: shielded conductors for overhead lines and their accessories - surge arresters).

The unit operates within the framework of implemented management systems in accordance with the relevant standard PN-EN ISO/IEC 17065:2013-03 ‘Conformity assessment. Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services’.

The Product Certification Body carries out certification of products, in accordance with the scope of PCA accreditation, under the following certification programmes:

• Products Certification Programme PC_1a according to the requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 17067 standard, programme type ‘1a’.
• Products Certification Programme PC_3 according to the requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 17067 standard, programme type ‘3’.

The Certification Body of the Institute of Power Engineering - National Research Institute makes Certification Programmes, including information on assessment procedures, rules and procedures for granting, maintaining extension or limitation of the scope, suspension, withdrawal or refusal of certification, available to the client on request.

Product certification is carried out in accordance with the requirements of standards contained in the scope of accreditation number AC 117.

List of accredited activities carried out within the flexible scope of the Certification Body AC 117.

The Certification Body of the Institute of Power Engineering - National Research Institute, also issues ‘IPE- Certificates’ for compliance with normative documents outside the scope of accreditation.
