What is the Insulation Department?
The Insulation Department is a part of the Energy Division of the Power Engineering Institutes - National Research Institute, and conducts research to improve methods and criteria for evaluating the insulation quality of rotating windings of high-voltage electric machines.
What does the Insulation Department do?
We offer a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Diagnostic testing of high-voltage electrical machines, particularly the insulation of windings in large turbogenerators and hydrogenerators,
- Off-line and on-line testing and analysis of partial discharge activity in generator stator winding insulation,
- Testing and measurement of dielectric parameters of materials, insulation systems, and winding components,
- Expert evaluations based on testing results and assessments of the technical condition of generator winding insulation,
- Technical supervision of the manufacturing of new generator stators and rotors, as well as the maintenance and modernization of existing high-voltage rotating machinery,
- Testing, measurement, and acceptance testing of new, overhauled, and rewinded generators, along with post-failure diagnostics and expert reports,
- Operational, maintenance, and modernization recommendations for generator operators focusing on insulation systems,
- Investigation of the effects of electrical and thermal stress on high-voltage winding insulation and aging tests on insulation components,
- Development of technologies related to insulation systems and corona protection for generator windings.
