On June 6-7, 2024, the 4th Polish Electrical Engineering Congress (KEP) took place in Poznań, a scientific and technical event organized every 5 years by the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers (SEP). The Polish Electrical Engineering Congress brings together a group of specialists from all fields of modern electrical engineering, including: power engineers, electrical engineers, electronic engineers, computer scientists, automation engineers, telecommunications specialists, and electric transport specialists.
The main objective of the congress is to diagnose the current state of Polish electrical engineering and to define strategic directions for the development of this key branch of science, technology and economy. The meetings accompanying the event also allow for the popularization of the tradition of Polish electrical engineering in broad circles of society. They serve to popularize and consolidate the scientific and professional achievements of Polish electricians in the public awareness, and show the specific benefits of the broadly understood electrical engineering industry for the Polish economy.
As the Instutute of Power Engineering - National Research Institute, we had the pleasure of becoming a substantive partner of this year's edition of the event, which was attended by the Director of the Energy Institute - National Research Institute, prof. Jakub Kupecki, PhD and the Head of the Electrical Division, Przemysław Berowski, PhD.
This year is another Congress of Polish Electrical Engineers organized every five years by the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers. At the same time, on June 9, we celebrated the 105th anniversary of SEP, which has almost 17,500 members from all over Poland. The event allowed us to look at the power system from the perspective of recent changes that have taken place in it and to discuss the challenges that lie ahead. The Institute of Power Engineering - National Research Institute closely cooperates with SEP, during a number of industry events and fairs and, above all, by carrying out work for the benefit of energy and industry. The SEP logo is present with us every day, including on over 100 authorizations that the Institute's employees have - says the Director of IPE-NRI, Prof. Jakub Kupecki, PhD.
During the Congress, many thematic sessions were held. In one of the panels entitled "A chance for a technological leap and the construction of Polish specialties - Technologies of the future", the Director of the Institute of Power Engineering - National Research Institute, Prof. Jakub Kupecki, PhD took part.
