Last week, Dr. Anna Niemczyk (Department of High Temperature Electrochemical Processes) took an active part in the international EUKICON 2024 conference - EUKI Networking Conference 2024 held in Berlin.
The event brought together key participants in European climate action. Dr. Niemczyk, together with Sven Giegold - Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) of Germany, Iryna Holovko, ETS expert from Adelphi research GmbH and Miklos Marton - climate and energy transition expert from MTVSZ – FOE (Hungary) took part in a panel on the impact of the EU and national regulation on the energy transition and decarbonization of Central and Eastern countries.
In addition, the "RenewStart for Hydrogen Technologies" project was presented during the event, focusing on defining the potential of renewable energy sources and hydrogen technologies in Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Albania. The project is coordinated by the Institute of Power Engineering – National Research Institute, and it is implemented in cooperation with the Lithuanian Energy Institute from Lithuania and the Stara Zagora Regional Development Agency (SZREDA, Bulgaria). This project is funded by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH as part of the EUKI initiative.
