In the magaizne International Journal of Hydrogen Energy (IF 3.582) there was published the article ANN–supported control strategy for a solid oxide fuel cell working on demand for a public utility building focusing on the strategy of artificial neural network to forecast demand for electricity of a large public utility buildings. It's co-author is Jakub Kupecki (PhD) from IEn's Department of High-Temperature Electrochemistry Processes (CPE).

On the 23rd of November 2017 there was organized the 4th Medial International Scientific Conference on "Decisions in situations of endangerment". Its aim was the presentation and discussion of research results focused on decision making in uncertainty and/or danger terms, terrorism and cultural threats, technical, personal and other aspects. During the conference, Hanna Bartoszewicz Burczy (PhD, IEn's Energy Economics Laboratory) delivered the presentation entitled: Evaluation of costs of interruptions in energy supply and their impact on the power system, economy and society in Poland.

In the journal International Journal of Hydrogen Energy (IF 3.582), there was published the article entitled "Modeling of a SOFC-HT battery hybrid system for optimal design of off-grid base transceiver station" concerning the development of a simulation tool to optimize the design of a hybrid fuel cell/battery system to supply ICT equipment. Authors of this publication are researchers of the Department of High-Temperature Electrochemistry Processes (CPE): Marcin Błesznowski, Konrad Motyliński and Jakub Kupecki (PhD).

In a highly rated magazine Ceramics International there was published the article entitled: „Effect of forming techniques on efficiency of tubular oxygen separating membranes”,written by, among others: Magdalena Gromada (PhD), (Ceramic Branch CEREL in Boguchwała) and Michał Wierzbicki (IEn's Department of High-Temperature Electrochemistry Processes, CPE).

On the 6th of October 2017 there was organised the presentation of first results of the cooperation of IEn's Department of High-Temperature Electrochemistry Processes (CPE) and National Fuel Cell Research Center, University of California, Irvine (NFCRC UCI), within research project entitled: Evaluation of application of solid oxide electrochemical conversion systems for the dynamic dispatch to complement intermittent renewable power. The project is financed by the Fulbright Commission from the US Department of State and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

On the 25th-30th of June 2017, the 12th National Conference on Science and Technology "Progress in Applied Electrotechnics" was held in Koscielisko, south of Poland. The conference was attended by researchers from the Institute of Power Engineering: Maciej Owsiński (EWP) and Jacek Karczewski (PhD, OTC-Łódź), who delivered lectures: A. Łasica, P. Sul, G. Matusiak, M. Owsiński: Laboratory tests of face shields against the thermal effects of electric arc and J. Karczewski, P. Shuman: Study of the correct operation of UAR power unit using the simulator of the actual control object.
